Workflow

From scanned suggestions to a finished PDF, without leaving the canvas.

Novus PDF Studio keeps the form visible, the tools close, and every AI result editable.

The whole flow is four steps — upload, scan, refine, export — and it never leaves your browser. There is no account to create, no file to send, and no waiting on a server: your PDF is opened, edited, and saved on your own device.

01

Upload a PDF

Choose any form or document from your device. It opens directly in a browser workspace with the full page preview in view, so you always see the real layout while you work. Nothing is uploaded: the file is read locally by your browser, and closing the tab discards unsaved work. A session remains only if you explicitly choose Save on this device; it stays in local IndexedDB until you delete it or the browser clears site data, and it never includes a password.

02

Scan for fields

The AI scan reads the page three ways at once — the form fields already embedded in the PDF, the boxes and underlines drawn in the page geometry, and the labels detected in the text — then merges them into editable fields for text, numbers, checkmarks, and signatures. Forms that are already filled import their existing values too, so you can review and correct them rather than starting over.

03

Refine manually

Scanned fields are a starting point, not a locked layout. Move, resize, duplicate, restyle, or add fields wherever the source PDF needs exact placement, and switch freely between scanned and manual fields without losing your work. Clear only the AI fields when a scan is noisy, or reset the whole workspace and start fresh.

04

Sign and export

Draw a signature, finish the remaining fields, then download or print a finished copy for review or submission. Exports are vector-based, so text stays crisp and selectable, highlights keep the same blending you see on screen, and the result looks exactly like the preview.

Designed for private, practical document work

The core editor runs in the browser and does not require an account. You control the upload, field placement, signing, and export flow.

What you can adjust

Merge, split, organize, rotate, number, protect, or unlock PDFs in a focused workspace.
Review page thumbnails and exact operation settings before generating a download.
Export and print as often as you need — there are no daily limits or accounts.
Use AI scanning as a starting point, not a locked layout.
Switch between scanned and manual fields without losing control.
Drag a highlight across text and it snaps to each line like a marker.
Clear only AI fields when a scan is noisy, or clear the full workspace.
Use export-safe fonts and colors so final PDFs stay predictable.
Drag the erase tool over text and it hugs exactly what it covers.

Why local processing is different

Most online PDF tools work by uploading your file to a server, processing it there, and sending it back. That means a copy of your document — a benefits application, a signed contract, a medical intake form — lives, however briefly, on someone else’s computer. Novus PDF Studio works the opposite way: every operation runs inside your browser tab using your device’s own processor. The file never travels across the network, so there is nothing to intercept, store, or leak.

Because the work happens locally, passwords you enter to unlock a protected PDF stay on your device too. Novus can open an encrypted file with the password you provide, make your changes, and export the result without that password ever being transmitted anywhere.

Local processing is also faster for everyday work. There is no upload progress bar and no round-trip to a data centre — the moment you drop a file in, it is ready to edit. Large documents render best on a desktop, but the same workflow runs on phones and tablets with touch controls.

And it is genuinely free: no accounts, no subscriptions, no watermarks, and no export limits. The tools are supported by advertising, shown alongside the workspace and never mixed into your document. Your files are never seen by us or by any ad network and never influence which ads appear. Where the law requires prior consent — the EEA, the UK and Switzerland — nothing loads until you opt in; elsewhere advertising starts on and one click on the cookies page turns it off. Either way you can decline advertising and analytics entirely and keep using every tool.
