About this tool
Flattening turns AcroForm widgets into ordinary page appearance content. It is useful when a receiving portal ignores field values, substitutes fonts, or lets someone accidentally overwrite a completed answer.
The operation runs transactionally on a fresh in-memory copy. If the form cannot produce a valid appearance, processing fails without touching the source file. Non-form annotations are not advertised as flattened because PDF form fields and general annotations are different structures.
How to flatten step by step

Save or export the PDF with every field showing the value you want recipients to see.

Flatten questions, answered
Can I edit the fields after flattening?
Not as form fields. Keep the original editable copy; the flattened output is intended for stable sharing.
Does this flatten comments and links?
No. This tool specifically flattens AcroForm fields. It does not claim to remove or bake every annotation subtype.
What if the PDF has no fields?
The tool reports that no AcroForm fields were found and produces a structurally rewritten copy without visual changes.
