What a Novus PDF Studio Account Actually Stores
An optional account holds your settings, your saved workflows and documents you built here. It never holds a PDF you opened, or even its filename.

Every tool page on this site says the same thing: your document stays in your browser. So an account is the one feature here that looks like it contradicts the pitch, and it is reasonable to be suspicious of it. The honest answer is not a reassurance. It is a list.
An account on Novus PDF Studio is optional. Every one of the tools works without one, exactly as it did before accounts existed, and nothing about signing in changes where a file is processed. What an account changes is that the choices you make stop disappearing when you switch devices or clear your browser.
What it holds
- Your identity: an email address, a name if you gave one, and how you sign in.
- Your settings: appearance, animation, the text-recognition language you use most.
- Your saved workflows: the order you run tools in, and the options you run them with.
- Documents you built here: anything you composed in the document builder, which is text you typed into our editor rather than a file you opened.
What it does not hold, and cannot
No PDF you open. No page image. No text pulled out of a scan by recognition. No value you type into a form field. No password you use to unlock a protected document. Not even the name of a file you chose from your own disk.
Where your documents actually live
In your browser, as they always have. When you save a session, the pages are written to this device's own storage, which no server can read. Clearing your site data removes them. Signing out does not, and neither does deleting your account, because they were never anywhere else to begin with.

Do you need one?
Probably not. If you merge a file once a month, an account buys you nothing. It becomes worth having when you keep re-picking the same options, when you move between a laptop and a phone, or when you build the same kind of document repeatedly and want your starting point back.
