About this tool
Three jobs live here because they are all the same complaint said differently: the page is the wrong shape. Wide margins waste ink and screen. A document built for Letter prints badly on A4. And a file somebody already cropped shows less than it contains.
They are one tool and three very different operations, and the difference matters more than the interface suggests. Cropping moves the visible window and leaves everything in the file. Resizing redraws the pages and really does change them. Showing the full page undoes the first of those, for anyone, at any time.
How to crop and resize step by step

Download the result and open it. For a crop, check that nothing you needed fell outside the new edges.
When to use it
- Trimming wide margins off a scanned book so it reads better on a tablet.
- Converting a Letter document to A4 before sending it to a European printer.
- Cutting printer marks and bleed off a file prepared for press.
- Recovering content from a PDF that somebody cropped too tightly.
Tips
- Crop first, look at it, then resize if you actually need the trimmed content gone.
- A4 and Letter are close but not equal: Letter is wider and shorter. Keep proportions on when converting between them.
- If a scanned book crops unevenly, the pages probably have different crop boxes already. Show the full page first, then trim from a known baseline.
Good to know
- Cropping hides content and never deletes it.
- Resizing redraws pages, so text stops being selectable and links and form fields are lost.
- The trim is the same on every selected page; per-page trims are not supported.
- There is no automatic detection of where the content ends.

Does cropping delete what I trimmed off?
No. This is the most important thing on this page. Cropping sets a CropBox, which is a window onto the full sheet, and everything outside it stays in the file byte for byte. Anyone can widen the window again, including with this tool's own Show the full page mode. It is a layout change, not redaction, and using it to hide sensitive information would be a mistake with real consequences.
Then how do I actually remove what is off the edge?
Resize the cropped pages afterwards. Resizing redraws each page from what is visible, so anything outside the crop is genuinely gone from the new file. The cost is that redrawn pages lose selectable text, links and form fields, which is a real trade rather than a footnote.
Why did my text stop being selectable after resizing?
Because a resized page is a redrawn copy of the original rather than the original at a new size. Pages you did not select are copied unchanged and keep everything. If selectable text matters and the size does not, crop instead.
What does Keep proportions do?
It scales the content to fit the new paper without changing its shape, and centres it, leaving white space on two sides. Turning it off stretches the content to fill the sheet, which distorts anything whose proportions differ from the target. The tool warns when you have turned it off.
